The 5-6 students most recently completed a unit on volcanoes by building their own! Check out the pictures below to catch each group in action. Mr. Bowie even stopped by to assist, too! Stayed tuned for videos of the eruptions, which are coming soon!

Plate Tectonics Lasagna!
Today in science class, after learning about the movement of Earth's plates, students observed a lab on their movement using tomato sauce and lasagna noodles! The sauce represented the magma located in the mantle of Earth's layers, while the noodles modeled tectonic plates that make up Earth's crust. The sauce was heated up to form convection currents and caused the noodle tectonic plates to curl up and move! Students were responsible for writing up their first lab report from scratch, which will be completed and typed up in class by the end of the week. Check out the picture!
